Grim Carols

We’ve all heard the same old, cheery, cheesy Christmas carols over store speakers every year.  But you’ve likely never heard these lesser known, dark holiday songs.  Take, for instance, the “Coventry Carol”, written about the biblical legend of King Herod’s mass infanticide, or the quiet gloom of the “Huron Carol” (also called “‘Twas in the Moon of Wintertime”), or the Medieval dirge, the “Carol of the Birds” (“A la Venue de Noel”).
