Digital Clocks in Antique Bodies

Thanks to the ever-wonderful Steampunk Home blog, I have been introduced to the thrilling “nixie tube” clock.  “Nixie” comes from “NIX I”, which stands for “Numeric Indicator Experimental #1.”  These old clocks were some of the earliest digital clocks.  Seeing the red, ominous looking numbers that one can imagine used to grace some Cold War-era nuclear console, encased in such elegant, antique clock frames, makes for a magnificent effect.  These are the kind of timepieces crafted by the talented West Dave.  Take a look at some of my favorites:
